Another update on my 'experiments' and 'creations' within the last month!

This is the chocolate souffle with a runny centre.  Made two in total, but both wasn't very successful. The first one was not really runny.......the texture was more like something in between a cake and a mousse.  The second one was too soft and when I tipped it over, it all splattered out!!! hahaha.......looks a bit gross too, but nevertheless tasted ok!

Rating: 2/10 for looks, 8.5/10 for taste!

Food40 Food41 Food42

This is banana bread/cake! I wanted to make banana bread actually, but i guess i didn't put enough flour in and so it didn't rise much at all and looked more like cake than bread!!  Since it looked more like a cake, i then decided to make some icing to go on it.  It was my first time making icing and I thought that it'd be easy to make, but turned out not so! It felt as if i was eating a slab of butter!

Rating: 3/10 with icing, 7.5/10 without icing!

Food43 Food44

This was just something i created cuz i thought they'd be a nice mix, hahaha!  It's dark choc, cherries and marshmallow puffs!!! It so extremely sweet, but then couldn't really taste the marshmallows.

Rating: 8/10

Food45 Food46

Tried baking some apple pies. Turned out quite well, but i still think that my apple crumble's better!!! kekeke......

Rating: 7.5/10

Food47 Food48 Food49

This was something i created too, with something like a ganache in mind. It's white choc and custard tart with a dust of cocoa powder.  The filling was really sweet, but couldn't really taste the custard.  Also, i used shortcrust pastry for the tart shell.  I thought it'd be similar to the shells of the fruit tarts that you can buy from bakeries, but it turned out really really hard!.....like really hard biscuit and so didn't quite match the soft choc filling.

Rating: 2/10 for the shell, 8/10 for the filling!

Food50 Food51

These desserts were what me and Ginny had when we went to the new Lindt cafe over at Darling Harbour 2 weeks ago. Loved them so much!!!  Really really divine! Forgot what they were called, but I had a chocolate mousse thing with a caramelised pear centre (the round one at the bottom) and a hot chocolate.  The hot chocolate was served with the milk and chocolate given separately so that you can mix it yourselves!  Ginny had a chocolate mousse thing.......maybe choc mousse cheesecake........forgot what it was already!!! hahaha.......sorry for the memory loss!!!   Anyway, they were really delicious.........but honestly, they were extremely sweet as well, and one person just can't finish the whole dessert.........both of us only managed to finish 3/4 of it!!!

Finally another entry!!! And this one will solely be on my fav topic: FOOD!!! wakakaka..........

The 1st half will be of my own experiments and creations, kekeke..........(luckily no one had to be rushed to the hospital as a result of them!!! ), and the 2nd half will be of foods I've had at places, mainly desserts i think...........

All these jellies were made in October last yr.  I've even tried making jelly with fresh apple juice, and it turned out quite nice actually, but dun have the pics here though. This one is mango jelly with peach & pear cubes. The taste of the fruits was all infused with the jelly, so couldn't taste much of the mango.  Next time maybe should put less fruits........

Rating: 7.5/10

Food1 Food2

Hahaha, these little things were just experiments.  I made some 'hong jo gwai yuen cha' (date and dried logan tea) and had some left over, so just added some gelatin and created these!!!  Didn't put enough gelatin though, so was a bit floppy.......and the taste was alright, hehehe.......

Rating: 6.5/10

Food3

I just made these straight out of the jelly packets.  The bottom is blueberry flavoured, and the top is red wine/red port?? flavoured (dun remember already, haha).  Taste was ok!

Rating: 7/10

Food4 Food5

This was in May this yr when Zoe came to sleepover.  I cooked the honey-soy chicken wings and she cooked the beef, capsicum and onion stir-fry.  It was Zoe's 1st time at cooking, and it tasted really good! kekeke........

Rating: 9/10

Food6 Food7

This apple crumble was also made during Zoe's stay.  They're sooo easy to make, sooo healthy, and sooo extremely delicious!!! Just luv'em!!!!!

Rating: 10/10

Food8 Food9 Food10

Made this in June from a cake mix.  The choc icing came with the packet, but it was a little ugly with just the icing, so i kinda decorated it with some maltesers (only had them on hand that was 'decorateable', hehe).  Looks quite cute actually! hahaha.......The taste was quite good, just felt not enough of the icing!! kekeke..........oh and it remained kinda fluffy even after refridgerating!!! hahaha.........my cakes in the past usually turns a little stiff after putting in the fridge.  Maybe this time i used olive oil instead of butter??? or maybe this time I've whipped it forever long??? hmm........guess it will remain a mystery until further investigations and experimenting.........

Rating: 8.5/10

Food11 Food12 Food13

Made these bacon & cheese quiches just on thursday.  Was really nice, but still needs a little improvement.

Rating: 9/10

Food14

Made these curry puffs just yesterday.  Been baking a lot lately cuz I'm going back to HK soon and I dun have a big oven there so won't be able to do much baking once I'm back.  Will be testing out how to bake choc souffles with a runny centre these few days, hehehe.  Anyway, the fillings of these curry puffs were potato, cheese, corn, onion and bacon.  They were extremely huge, hahaha. They tasted quite good when they were first out of the oven, but after reheating they became kinda soft.

Rating: 8.5/10

Food36 Food37 Food39

That's all with my experiments, and now to the nice foods that I've had or saw at diff places.
